Tricotez-moi offers a wide selection of 100% natural high-end knitting yarns: kid mohair, baby alpaca, superfine merino, silk, cotton and linen. These wools were chosen for their thermal quality, their knitting ability, their very good resistance to use, their supersoft quality and their absence of pilling. Our sons are all from the best European spinning mills.
This warm and very soft yarn comes from the mowing of two animals, huacayo and suri, more generally called "alpaca". These animals live in the Andes, Peru. Some farms exist in France. Their hair is particularly fine (as much as cashmere) and insulating. Alpaca wool is nice to knit, light and swollen.
Mohair is a natural yarn, thin, swelling, breathable and warm. It comes from the fleece of the angora goat, originally from Ankara, Turkey. Our mohair yarns have a silk thread, used as a soul (support yarn), it improves the natural shine of the mohair. We only use kid mohair, the finest mohair.
Among the different kinds of knitting yarn, merino is one of the finest. This thread is appreciated for its softness and its thermal qualities. It comes from the shearing of sheep from Spain.
