Women's cardigan in knitting kit
Want to knit a cardigan? The Lauréole model will meet all your expectations. It is a straight cut cardigan that comes down above the hips, with raglan sleeves and a plunging V-neck. The sleeve is ballooned with a long cuff. The waistcoat buttons up the front with a wide button placket knitted in fancy stitch.
The cardigan is knitted in Top Hair, a soft, light and bulky wool made of mohair and silk. The silk enhances the fancy stitch on the edges and gives it a beautiful sheen.
Wear this cardigan on many occasions, with high-waisted trousers, jeans or a pencil skirt.
How to knit the cardigan?
The Lauréole Waistcoat is knitted with n°5 needles for the body and n°4.5 for the edges. To knit it, you need to know the basic knitting techniques:
- Knit knit and purl stitches
- Increase and decrease
- Pick up stitches
- Bind off and assembly
If you know these techniques, you can tackle this project. This pattern is an introduction to raglan.
Customisation
Top Hair wool is available in different colours, from light to dark. Choose the colour you want to knit. Then select the size of the cardigan, using the size guide if necessary.
The knitting kit
Everything you need to make the Lauréole cardigan is included in the kit: balls of wool, mother-of-pearl buttons dyed in the colour of the yarn, optional knitting needles, a small 24-carat gold heart to sew on to sign your work and the knitting pattern with step-by-step instructions for sizes S, M, L and XL.
To make the cardigan, you will also need a few tools, such as a pair of scissors, a tape measure, a wool needle and three stitch holder (optional). Visit our haberdashery page to complete your accessories.
Care
Take good care of your cardigan to preserve it for a long time. Space out the washings and use little detergent. Simply air it out to get rid of any bad smell.
Wash by hand or in the machine if it has a "wool" programme with a balance. The water temperature for washing and rinsing should be constant and <30°C. Squeeze without wringing or use a programme <600 rpm. Dry flat in a ventilated area.
Do not iron mohair.
Store flat in an unconfined area and change places regularly to avoid creasing.
