Secure payment
To pay for your purchases, you can choose between 2 methods of payment: by bank transfer or by credit card online. Choose the payment method that suits your purchases.
Online payment: two solutions

Online payment is open to all customers residing in Europe, North Africa, Asia, North and Central America.

The site offers two secure payment solutions: SP Plus from the Caisse d'Épargne or Paypal. Once you have made your choice, you leave the TRICOTEZ-MOI website and are automatically directed to the selected payment platform.

From that moment on, all your credit card information entered on your computer is encrypted using SSL (Secure Socket Layer) technology. TRICOTEZ-MOI does not have access to this data.

These two payment sites (Caisse d'Epargne and Paypal) accept all bank cards marked with a logo (CB, Visa, Mastercard).

For residents outside France, according to the arrangements made by Paypal, payment via Paypal is only possible if the user already has a Paypal account.

In addition to SSL encryption, which ensures the security of Internet exchanges, the Caisse d'Epargne, via the PCI-DSS certified SP Plus service, uses a specific security protocol called "3D Secure". This protocol "is based on the implementation of an additional control during an online purchase: in addition to the bank details, the buyer is asked to enter a personal data enabling his bank to identify him and validate the transaction. Once the bank details have been entered, the buyer receives a code by telephone or SMS which allows him to finalise his order.

The use of the 3D Secure protocol does not represent any additional cost for the buyer. However, the customer has the option of deactivating 3D Secure.

What is the PCI-DSS standard?

The Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS) is an international security standard for sensitive data. It was defined by the Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI-SSC), an organisation founded in 2005 by the major card payment systems: MasterCard, Visa, American Express, Discover Financial Services and JCB.

The standard defines the norms for protecting the confidentiality and integrity of data that can be used and stored in the context of card payments, particularly on the Internet (e.g. obligation to encrypt stored data, prohibition of storing the visual cryptogram, etc.).

Its main objective is to prevent the theft of files containing card numbers, and failing that, to limit the consequences of any such theft.

It applies to all actors who store, process or transmit card data, in particular merchants and e-commerce sites, but also to card payment system hosts, including banks.

The process of monitoring the level of compliance of these actors with the PCI-DSS varies in proportion to the volume of transactions processed.

What is 3D-Secure?

3D-Secure is a programme created by the international issuers Visa (Verified By Visa) and Mastercard (Mastercard Secure Code) to strengthen the security of online payments.

It is based on the implementation of an additional control during an online payment: in addition to the banking data, the buyer is invited to authenticate himself by entering a personal data allowing his bank to identify him and validate the transaction.

This system is accompanied by a regulatory change called "transfer of responsibility".

The principle is that the risk of an unpaid transaction being issued due to a dispute by the cardholder is borne by the cardholder's bank and no longer by the merchant's bank, if the cardholder has validated his payment by entering his personal data, if his bank has validated this authentication and if the merchant has complied with the security measures set out in the general conditions of his merchant electronic payment contract (VADS)
Questions you may have...

When you are about to enter your bank card numbers, a small padlock is displayed at the bottom of your browser. This indicates that you are in a secure area and that all the information you enter is encrypted.
Are the merchants with the system set up by the Caisse d'Épargne trustworthy?

The risk of fraud on the Internet may indeed come from the dishonesty of certain merchants, offering, for example, concealed forms of subscription. As for the merchants using the Caisse d'Épargne system, they all have an account with the Caisse d'Épargne and have been accepted on the basis of eligibility criteria, making it possible to ensure good commercial practices and their financial sustainability, so that each parcel ordered is properly delivered. In addition, the Caisse d'Épargne is a member of the FEVAD (Fédération des Entreprises de Vente A Distance) and recommends that all its merchants join this federation, thus providing them with the label of a recognised organisation.

Isn't there a risk that my card number will be used fraudulently?

With the SP Pro solution adopted on the TRICOTEZ-MOI site, your card number will never circulate in clear text on the Internet, and will not be transmitted to the TRICOTEZ-MOI site at the time of purchase, but to the Caisse d'Epargne server. It will not be stored on this server when the payment is completed.

Do I need special software?

No, most of the browsers available today integrate data encryption in SSL protocol as standard. You don't need to install anything special, your browser will automatically switch to secure mode when you pay.

How can I check that I am in secure mode?

The URL (or the Internet address displayed in the "address" window of your browser) which is used in SSL starts with "https" and not "http". In addition, a pictogram representing a key or a padlock will appear during these exchanges.
How much does it cost me?

Secure payment costs you nothing, it is a completely FREE service for consumers!
The 3D-Secure and PCI-DSS standards do not apply to Paypal.
