Balloon sleeve jumper
The Lanaster Sweater is a must-have for the summer wardrobe. It has a straight cut with short balloon sleeves and a blouse neckline. The V-shaped opening is not closed with buttons but left open. The jumper is knitted from organic cotton, a light and pleasantly tactile yarn with a well-designed stitch.
Wear the Lanaster Sweater as a dressy item over jeans or trousers with pleats, or even a straight skirt.
How to knit the jumper?
The Lanaster Sweater is knitted with n°3.5 straight needles. To knit it, you need to know the basic knitting techniques:
- Knit knit and purl stitches
Increase and decrease
Pick up stitches
If you know these techniques, you can start this project. Knitting beginners with some experience can tackle this pattern by getting help with the neckline.
Calliope yarn is available in different colours, so choose the one you like. Then select the size, using the size guide to help you determine the best size.
The knitting kit
Everything you need to make the Lanaster Sweater is included in the kit: the cotton yarn, the knitting needles (optional), a little heart to sew on to sign your work and the knitting pattern with step-by-step explanations for sizes S, M, L and XL.
To knit this pattern you will also need a few tools, such as a pair of scissors, a tape measure and a wool needle. Visit ourhaberdashery page to complete your tools.
Calliope yarn is a pure cotton that is easy to care for. Wash your jumper by hand or in the washing machine on the colour cycle. The water temperature should be <40°C. Use little detergent. If you are washing by hand, do not rub the knitwear, but press the detergent into the fibre using successive strokes.
Rinse with clean water, without using fabric softener. Squeeze without wringing or at a speed <900 rpm. Do not use bleach.
Dry flat in a well-ventilated area.
Iron under steam in the 2 point position, using a pattemouille.
