Ball of natural alpaca wool
The Heritage is a soft and slightly fuzzy 100 % natural alpaca yarn. The colours we offer are not the result of some dying process, but the natural shades of the alpaca’s fleece. This undyed yarn is a premium quality product that lends itself perfectly to knitting big warm comfortable sweaters, to wear with a shirt or a T-shirt. The natural alpaca shades allow for complex jacquard knits.
It takes about 10 balls of yarn to knit a size S or M women’s sweater, or 12 balls for sizes L and XL. One ball of yarn is enough to knit mittens.
To knit a sample, cast at least 28 stitches on 4.5 mm needles. A 10 x 10 cm square of stocking stitches corresponds to 20 stitches and 24 rows.
Take good care of your alpaca to keep it in good conditions. Spread out washes and use a little detergent without any softeners. Wash it by hand or in a machine with cradle wash technology, but always at a temperature of 30°C and no more. Remove excess water without wringing. Leave to dry on a flat surface in a ventilated space. Refrain from using dryers. Iron your garment with the low heat setting. Store in an unconfined space and change it location regularly to prevent creases. For more details on how to care for knitted garments, please refer to our care guide.
