Knitting kit snood

At last, a snood that doesn't have to go over your head but can be buttoned up. This snood won't mess up your hair. It can be used as a collar by unbuttoning the first button. Knitted from Top Hair (mohair and silk), it brings softness and warmth to the neck, an area often exposed to the cold. Its fancy stitch forms discreet little ribs that enhance the silky aspect of the wool.

How to knit a snood

The Pilea Snood is knitted with n°5 needles. To make it, you need to know the basic knitting techniques:

• Knit knit and purl stitches
• Slip stitches
• Making buttonholes

If you know these techniques, you can get started with this pattern. Knitting beginners with experience of stockinette and ribbing will learn how to slip stitches and make buttonholes, two simple knitting techniques.

The kit

The kit contains everything you need to make the Pilea Snood: balls of Top Hair wool in the colour of your choice, mother-of-pearl buttons dyed in the colour of the yarn, optional knitting needles and the knitting pattern with full instructions.

Care

Top Hair is a natural wool that requires some care to keep it long-lasting. Wash the snood by hand or in the washing machine if it has a wool cycle. The temperature of the wash and rinse water should be constant and <30°C. Do not rub the knitted fabric. Rinse with clean water without adding fabric softener and dry flat. Mohair sets naturally, do not iron.
