Gilet bébé à tricoter Mael
Layette in knitting kit
The Mael Cardigan is a must-have pattern for dressing baby from the very beginning. The kit contains balls of Diam, 100% natural superfine merino wool, mother-of-pearl buttons, optional knitting needles, a little heart to sew and the knitting pattern for sizes 3, 6, 12, 18 and 24 months.
Choose the highest quality natural wool to knit the layette.
The pattern shown is knitted in size 3 months with the natural colour.
Cardigan in knitting kit
The Mael cardigan is a bra specially adapted to the baby's morphology. It has a straight fit and slightly flared, with set-in sleeves and a rounded neckline. The front is closed with a button placket. The borders, knitted in fancy stitch, give the bra an original touch. In addition, the cardigan is made of a noble material, a 100% natural merino wool made from the finest merino hair, which makes the garment very soft.
How to knit the cardigan?
The Mael Waistcoat is knitted with n°3.5 needles. To make it, you need to know the basic knitting techniques:
- Knit stitches and purl stitches
- Increase and decrease
- Managing the slipped stitches of the fancy stitch
- Bind off and assembly
If you know these techniques, you can tackle this project. You can also find knitting tutorials on our blog to help you learn how to knit.
Customisation
Diam yarn is a knitting yarn with a wide range of colours. Choose the colour you want to knit. Then select the size of the bra. Always choose a size larger than the child's.
The knitting kit
The kit contains everything you need to make the Mael Cardigan: balls of merino wool, optional knitting needles, small mother-of-pearl buttons, a 24 carat gold heart sequin to sew on the cardigan as a signature and the knitting pattern with all the explanations of the model and dimensional drawings.
To make the cardigan, you will also need a few tools, such as a pair of scissors, a stitch holder (optional), a wool needle for mounting and a tape measure. Visit our haberdashery page to complete your shopping.
Maintenance
Diam merino wool is a natural yarn. Wash the cardigan by hand or in the washing machine if it has a "wool" balance programme. The water temperature should be constant and <30°. Do not rub, use little detergent and no softener. Dry flat in in a good ventilated area and iron under steam in the 2-point position using a damp cloth.
Store flat in an unconfined area and change places regularly to remove any creases.
