Ready to knit cardigan

The Idesia is a timeless design with and added touch of fantasy. It is knitted with Diam, a superfine merino yarn, made from the finest of the merino sheep fleece, ensuring upmost softness to your garments. The cardigan has a straight cut that slopes down to the hips, set-in sleeves, and a round neck.[MK1]  It is closed on the front with a set of six pearlescent buttons that match the colour of the yarn. A large fantasy-knit motif made up of leaves and bobbles adorns the front. Wear this cardigan for every occasion with trousers, shorts, or a pencil or pleated skirt. Leave it open on top of a T-shirt or a blouse or keep it closed like a sweater to highlight the fantasy knitwork.

How to knit this cardigan?

The Idesia is knitted using 3,5 mm needles. To make it, you must know the following knitting techniques:

• Kit and purl stitches
• Pass slipped stitches over
• Knit bobbles
• Increase and decrease stitches
• Pick up stitches
• Knit buttonholes
• Cast off and assemble

You can start this project if you know all these techniques. Beginners with some knitting experience who wish to learn fantasy knitwork may need to practice this technique before attempting to knit this piece. Getting assistance will save them precious time, especially with picking up stitches for the finishing touches.

The knitting kit

The kit comes with everything you need to knit the Idesia cardigan: balls of Diam merino yarn in the colour of your choice, a set of matching pearlescent buttons, knitting needles (optional), a decorative  heart-shaped 24 karats charm to sew on the side of your cardigan, and a knitting pattern with instructions for sizes S, M, L and XL.

Care

Take good care of your cardigan to keep it in good conditions for a long time. Spread out washes and use a gentle detergent. Air your cardigan if it ever smells. Without synthetic or artificial fibres, the bacteria that cause the smells will be eliminated naturally. Wash your cardigan by hand or in a machine with cradle wash technology. The water for the wash and the rinse must remain at a constant temperature of no more than 30°C. Do not rub your garment but apply gentle pressure to let the detergent seep in instead. Rinse with clear water without using softeners. Remove excess water without wringing and leave to dry flat in a ventilated location. Iron your garment on medium heat. Store flat in a dust-free and unconfined location and change it location regularly to prevent creasing.
