Fancy cardigan
The Stipa cardigan is a classic design with a twist. Easy to wear on any occasion, it complements any outfit while providing soft warmth. It has a straight cut, with set-in sleeves slightly tightened at the wrist, and a rounded neckline. The front is buttoned like a cardigan.
The Stipa waistcoat is knitted in Diam, a pure superfine merino wool, which gives it excellent hold and a very pleasant feel.
Wear this cardigan open over a blouse or shirt, or closed with straight trousers, trousers with pleats, or a trapeze skirt.
How do I knit the cardigan?
The Stip waistcoat is knitted with n°3.5 needles. To knit it, you need to know the basic knitting techniques:
- Knit knit and purl stitches
- Increase and decrease
- Picking up stitches
- Assembly
If you're familiar with these techniques, you can tackle this pattern without difficulty. Knitting beginners with a little experience can practise the fancy stitch before starting. They will benefit from assistance during assembly, particularly when Pick up stitches on the neckline.

Care
Diam is a top-of-the-range wool that needs a little care if it is to last a long time. Space out your washes, use little washing powder and never use fabric softener.
Wash your waistcoat by hand or in the washing machine if it has a wool cycle. Keep the water temperature constant at all stages from washing to rinsing and <30°C. Do not rub the waistcoat, but press it down successively. Rinse with clean water and spin without wringing. Machine spin at <600 rpm.
Dry flat in a ventilated area.
Steam iron in 2 point position using a damp cloth.
Store flat in an uncluttered place and move regularly to prevent creasing.
