Cardigan knitting kit

The Visby is a dressy cardigan that can be enjoyed on the daily. Its straight cut, set-in sleeves, fantasy stitches, and slanted yoke that enhances the front all work together perfectly to produce a chic look. The Visby cardigan doesn’t have buttons and is worn open with a blouse or a top in a contrasting colour, and a skirt or trousers.

Easy to knit

Although it is knitted with fantasy stitches, the Visby is anything but hard to knit and is achievable by anyone with a bit of experience. It is knitted using 5 mm needles and Luxor, our slightly fuzzy 100 % natural yarn made up of alpaca, merino, and cotton. To achieve the Visby cardigan, you must know these techniques:

• Knit and purl stitches
• Decrease and increase stitches
• Cast off stitches
• Assemble

Customisation

Our Luxor yarn comes in 4 colours for this design: plum (the one on display), midnight blue, marbled grey[MK1] , and natural. Choose the colour you like best.
You can then choose between sizes S, M, L, and XL. Each corresponds to a specific knitting pattern and yarn quality. Refer to our size guide when in doubt.
You wish to knit a longer cardigan that covers the hips? Simply order one extra ball of yarn in the colour of your choice!

The knitting kit

The kitcontains everything you need to knit a Visby cardigan: Luxor balls of yarn in the colour of your choice, knitting needles, and a companion booklet with instructions to help you knit this piece. If you do not need needles, don’t forget to select “no needle” or select the corresponding needles [MK2] if you wish to order them with your kit.
You will also need a few extra tools such as a tape measure, a pair of scissors, and a yarn needle. Visit our Haberdashery page to complete your knitting set.

Care

You can wash your cardigan by hand or in the washer under 30°C on a wool cycle. Do not put in the dryer, instead leave it to dry flat in a ventilated location. Store your cardigan on a flat surface but do not hang it. You may also iron your garment.
