Tank top in knitting kit
The Mariager Sweater is a sleeveless model in line with fashion trends. It is knitted in Top Hair, a top-of-the-range mohair and silk wool that is soft, light and puffy. The front of the jumper is embellished with 3 columns knitted in fancy stitch.
Wear the top next to your skin for a mid-season outfit, or over a puff-sleeved shirt for a retro twist!
How do I knit the jumper?
The Mariager Sweater is knitted with n°4.5 needles. To make it, you need to know the following knitting techniques:
- Knit knit and purl stitches
- Knitting torso stitches
- Pick up stitches
- Assembly
If you know these techniques, you can tackle this project. Knitting beginners who have already mastered stockinette and ribbing will be able to practise a simple openwork fancy stitch.
The knitting kit
The kit contains everything you need to make the Bridal Sweater: balls of Top Hair wool, optional knitting needles, a small 24-carat gold sewing heart to sign your work and the knitting pattern with step-by-step explanations for sizes S, M, L and XL.
To make this pattern, you'll also need a few tools, like a pair of scissors, a tape measure, 1 stitch holder (optional) and a wool needle. Visit our Haberdashery page to complete your tools.
Care
Top Hair wool is precious, so give it the care it needs to last a long time. Space your washes, use little washing powder and never use fabric softener. Hand wash or machine wash if it has a wool balance programme. Washing and rinsing water should be at a constant temperature and <30°C. Spin without wringing or at <600 rpm. Dry flat in an airy place.
Mohair cannot be ironed. Change regularly to avoid creasing.
