Fancy stitch jumper
If you like knitting twists, this model is for you. The fancy stitch is based on a set of crossed stitches that give the jumper plumpness and suppleness. It has a straight cut with straight sleeves and a rounded neckline. The jumper is knitted in Diam, a 100% natural pure merino wool that is both soft and warm.
Wear this jumper in sporty mode over jeans or canvas trousers, or in dressier mode over a pencil skirt or flared trousers.
How do I knit the jumper?
The Lewisia Sweater is knitted with n°4 needles for the body and n°3.5 for the edges. To knit it, you need to know the following techniques:
- Knit knit and purl stitches
- Crossing stitches
- Increasing and decreasing
- Pick up stitches
- Assembly
If you've mastered these techniques, you can get started on this project. Managing the decorative stitch when raising a sleeve can be tricky for beginner knitters who have already mastered stockinette. They may need help with pick up stitches.

The knitting kit
The kit contains everything you need to make the Lewisia jumper: balls of Diam wool, optional n°3,5 and 4 needles, a small 24-carat gold sewing heart to sign your work and the knitting pattern with step-by-step explanations for sizes S, M, L and XL.

Care and maintenance
Diam is a top-of-the-range knitting yarn. Give it all the care it needs. Space out your washes, use little washing powder and never use fabric softener.
Wash by hand or in the washing machine if it has a wool balance programme. The temperature of the wash and rinse water should be constant and <30°C. Do not rub the knitwear, but apply gentle pressure. Squeeze without wringing or at 600 rpm. Dry flat in an airy place. Iron under steam in the 2-stitch position using a damp cloth. Store flat in an uncluttered place.
